v.a. – four to the floor 4
Putting together four EPs in quick succession is no easy task. When they’re part of an acclaimed series and you’re one of the world’s largest house music labels, that task becomes even harder (or in some people’s eyes, easier).
But whatever way you look at it, it’s the results that speak for themselves. And over the course of the past three such releases, Hamburg imprint Diynamic has proved again and again just why they’re so revered. So what, indeed, of the fourth – and last – such release? Well, it doesn’t let up, that’s for sure.
This time, the action comes from Malanda Jr, Handshake, Zaki and Martin Kremser, and it’s to Diynamic’s enormous credit that they’ve allowed 16 new producers to enter the fold in such circumstances. Anyway, starting us off is Malanda Jr, who opens with one of the series’ high points in ‘’Infinity’’. Metallic but strewn with punch, this is the sort of steely and industrial sounding track that’ll cause devastation wherever it’s fully unleashed. Hnadshake’s ‘’Gravity’’ reminds up that Diynamic can do catchy too, before Zaki’s ‘’Heart Never Lies’’ goes all out in its search for bassline-led kicks. And last – but definitely not least – is Martin Kremser, who summons up the wonderful and refined track that is ‘’Curious’’.
A melodic masterpiece that clearly owes a debt to the likes of Diynamic’s own David August, this is more robust DJ tackle for the discerning house music fan. A series that we’re sure to be returning to for the best part of the next year, it’s continued proof of just why Diynamic continue to stay so relevant in such a fast-paced and ever-changing game.
