Tender Games – a game between lovers

We meet with Tender Games, a new act and a kind of mistery of who is behind this act – let’s try to find out a bit more:

Let’s start with the name – Tender Games – is it a way of life, a statement or…?

I think the main idea behind the name of our project and the album is the game between two persons that are addicted to each other. It could be in the begining when you meet someone or later in the relationship. It’s always about games between two lovers, and as nearly all of our tracks are about girls and these games are something we are pros in, we thought it would be a good idea to name our new project like this.

How did you get together?

M: I met U’s flatmate one and a half years ago because i was searching for a good movie director for my upcoming music video. When i met him at their place he introduced me to U and from then on we started working together.

What is your musical background?

U: I started by learning the guitar through tutorials on youtube. From there on I got more and more into producing and wanted to learn how to play keys also. So I got a DAW and a MIDI keyboard and slowly built up my knowledge.

M: I started DJ’ing and producing at the age of 17, while i was studying for my a-levels. It all started with house music and a lot hard parties here in Berlin. I never learned an instrument but i am trying to build up my knowledge all the time.

We can reveal that one of you works at a very well-known radio station – what is your job there?

That´s actually not true – we are both full-time musicians.

And the other is working with his body – to be more precise his voice, right?

U: I love to work with my body – that´s true. But as far as music goes I am a producer and a singer.

We got a first single from your upcoming album in our hands called ‘In a Mess’ – what is it about?

It is about knowing that what you do can only go wrong. And yet it is somehow not in your power because the allure is too much.

How did the remixes from Kasper Bjørke and Dale Howard come to life?

These were two of our first choices for the remix and so we basically just contacted the label and they made it happen. We are really happy with their work and the first single.

How do you feel to be working with Suol? We recently interviewed Chopstick + Johnjon about their incredible album ‘Twelve’ – is it a family thing?

That´s one of the main reasons we wanted to do this album with Suol. Because we think it is important to be affiliated to a camp at least to a certain degree. And with Suol it really is a family affair. Everyone is friendly but also determined to get the best results.
