H2 – Just bounce ep

Klangkultur Schallplatten returns with ‘Just Bounce’ by Manchester based duo H2, backed with remixes from DJ W!ld and Dirk Hermann & Andreas Mueller.

Klangkultur Schallplatten was founded by Dirk Hermann and Andreas Mueller, and is based out of Cologne, Germany. Now four releases deep the imprint has welcomed some reputable names onto its roster, namely, Chris James, Andre Crom, Darius Syrossian and DJ W!ld. Here it welcomes Nervous and Electronique artists H2, a reputable Manchester based duo who previously had a long running residency at the infamous Sankeys nightclub in their hometown.

The release kicks off with DJ W!ld’s remix of ‘Lost Without’, seeing the Parisian delve deep into his infectious house style, with swinging percussion, driving bass leads and resonant synth sweeps, the result is a straight laced drummy workout. Next up is ‘Just Bounce’, which sees H2 offer up a shuffling house groove, employing raw 909 drums, dark chord stabs, natural bass licks and a soft vocal murmurs uttering the title.

The original of ‘Lost Without You’ follows on the B-Side, the pair blend weighty drums with flourishing pads, strings and rumbling sub bass. While a variety of heavily modulated vocal lines and penetrating synths fuel the musicality. Label founders Dirk Hermann & Andreas Mueller close the release with their interpretation of ‘Just Bounce’, a perfect way to wind down the EP, taking things deep with an emotive warbling pad line, a dropped tempo feel, and warm melodies.
