eren erdol – transparent beauty
Eren Erdol is the man who head up Turkish imprint Petra Digital, and by all accounts, he’s a man who very much knows the value of all things house music.
His brief and sparse outlay is indicative of the fact, always speaking to our aural senses as much as they do our dancing feet. On his latest star turn, he repeats the trick with some panache, delivering the exceptional and all-round captivating ‘Transparent Beauty’ on our most receptive ears.
Indeed, the track is the sort of diverse and potent one with which any party will be brought into overdrive. Catchy but delivered with real finesse, it makes smart use of a bulbous and intricate bassline, and one that’s as melancholic as it is driving. On that note, it’s sure to appeal to the likes of Solomun and Dixon, i.e. DJs who crave sounds that are as likely to get the women dancing as the men. Full of sun-kissed flair, this might sound better during the height of a Balearic summer, but regardless it’s a great track with a classic vibe that abounds.
More fierce and fully loaded is the remix by Teenage Mutants. They make use of the original’s ghetto vocal, working the spine of their track alongside it. A sure fire party starter, it succinctly compliments the original whilst also giving the package an air of added distinction. The Petra Digital show goes on – here’s to much more of the same in 2015.
