So here we are, on the edge of another boiling season in Ibiza, the first openings are over and we are about to leave our caves for another one, tonight will be amnesia and tomorrow We Love… at Space.

What is crystal clear already is the fact that Ibiza will be more divided than ever, there will be the authentic parties in authentic places and the Very Impotent Parties in not-so-authentic places – without naming them you can maybe find out what i am talking about.

The other day we wanted to attend the opening of a new party hotel in Playa d’en Bossa and got ourselves on the exclusive list of the promoter of this night to make sure we get in – just in case it gets too crowded or whatever else can happen. I am not the biggest fan of this place anyway but as they just added this new hotel to their existing venue we thought we give it a try, on top the promoter of this night is a collaborator of dub Ibiza network.

On arrival we (my wife and me) got told that we are not on the guestlist and had to insist that this is impossible, after a second, third and finally fourth inspection of the not-so-big list the girl on the door finally found us – sorted, we thought………… After identifying us the girl takes a look on myself and my wife and her eyes became big as she saw no high heels on my wife’s feet – what a crime! Finally she refuses to let us in. No joke. Really. My wife was dressed in a classic black top, a classic grey suit trouser and black sportive shoes. ‘Without heels you can not get in’ was the answer once again and i realize she is really serious about that. ‘Are you really sure you do not want to let us in?’ i asked again politely, and the answer was again ‘yes’. So we turned around with a smile on our faces, knowing that we were right anyway about this place but felt really bad for the promoter as we know that this will be a problem for them during the season.

Let’s face it, if you do wear at least 300 g of Silicone somewhere in your body, got high heels with a minimum height of 8 cm, your IQ does not exceed 50 and you got at least 200 euros in your LV imitation purse you are the perfect match for this kind of place, if not then you might be refused entrance.

Where the hell do we end on this island – this is NOT Miami, this is NOT St. Tropez, this is NOT Monaco nor Marbella, this is IBIZA.

Any people on the door should have a certain feeling for people’s personalities and not judging people just by their cover. Especially if somebody is on a guestlist of the promoter it is quite obvious that he has some connection and should not be denied entrance.
