Quanticman Records have a glittered past and don’t put out releases lightly.

Here they have two fellow countrymen doing their bit to further rubber stamp that reputation with a 4 track EP that has a great balance and shows their versatility when it comes to quality underground dance music.

Title track ‘Alkhemia’ kicks us off with a punchy snare drum beat, with whirly percussive samples that keep everything tied in together well. It’s all kept very simple but will work as a great filler track for any well put together mix. To follow is ‘Jargon’, which kind of copies the same lead with an infectious beat and simmering percussion aplenty.

‘East Frantic’ has an intro that sounds like we are going straight into ‘Firestarter’ of Keith Flint virtuosity and is exciting. The brilliant breakbeat usage on the EP makes it an instant pleaser and the eerie samples midway through only add to the drama! A super track from start to finish. We are brought to a close with a Shoxy remix of ‘Alkhemia’ and it’s a monster of a rejig. It brings the track up a notch or two in terms of raising a few rooftops and wouldn’t sound out of place on a Berlin dance floor alongside a procession of foot stomps and fist pumps. Overall, a solid record and a glimpse of the potential to come from both artists together in the not too distant future.
