Ibiza offers a wide variety of beaches, some are of the best in the world – it just depends on what you are looking for.

Here we take a closer look on Salinas:

Probably one of the best but for sure one that will never fail to satisfy your needs is the beach of Salinas, behind the salt fields that gave name to it. Drive from the airport about five minutes then take a right down the long road until the end, there you will reach a roundabout where you take a right. Drive down the long road crossing the salt fields called ‘Salinas’ where the famous seasalt of Ibiza has its origin. They still extract it but today it is no longer a pile of Ibiza’s economy. When you arrive to the next roundabout take a left and enter the parking place. It is five Euros per day, if you do not want to spend it park your car next to the roundabout, you will find lots of cars there, then walk down towards the beach.

The whole beach is situated in a natural resort, you should very well be aware of not leaving any garbage with you or enter the dunes that rise on the back as they are home to a lot of protected species of all sorts of animals.

Salinas consists of a long sandy beach hosting four chiringuitos with everything you can wish for: Excellent food, drinks and always good music.

Our favourite is Sa Trinxa, home to the young at heart and the origin of what today is called Chill Out. Jon Sa Trinxa is one of the originators of this genre and is still spinning in one of the most easy DJ booths overlooking the sea.

Another one is the Jockey Club just at the entrance to the beach, excellent food and drinks, not cheap but worth a visit.

Next to it is Malibu, here you can still have a quiet moment in all the rush and the food is excellent too.

The ultimate is Guarana, ideal for families and young ones, food and drinks are accessible too.

If you walk down the beach leaving Sa Trinxa behind you will find some hidden spots and at the very end a watchtower with view to Formentera. If you go the other side you will walk up another incredible beach, Es Cavallet, the description to this beach you find here.

If you stay until sunset be aware of the moskitos, they sometimes are very very hungry… And prepare some extra time in the high season because you will find a traffic jam on the way back to Ibiza.
