Following up from the enormously well-received ‘This Is Not The End’ EP on his own Fine Human Records, Dino Lenny returns, this time with BBC Radio 1 Future Star Doorly in tow.

The dancefloor can be a beautiful and mysterious place. A unique environment which brings people from all walks of life together under one roof, and where as Dino puts it, ‘the only thing that counts is respect’. ‘The Magic Room’ is an ode to that special place, a tribute to floors across the world where both he, Doorly, and millions of clubbers across the world lose themselves every weekend.

“This Magic Room was released as a bootleg in 2014, under the name ‘Loden In Ny’, which is an anagram of Dino Lenny. The feedback was so incredible that people were asking why this record wasn’t a hit. So I’m giving it a proper release, with some good remixes, Doorly worked with me boosting the original mix and it was so spot on that we decided to use both our names to give it maximum exposure.” – Dino Lenny

A tightly-woven, classy house beat, with chugging guitars, and emotive piano chords, provide an underpinning to Dino’s vocals, part spoken word, part singing, as he celebrates and contemplates upon the unifying qualities of the dancefloor. 

Co-producer Doorly steps up to offer one of his aptly named ‘re-chunks’, beefing up the drums and low end, and eschewing many of the spoken word elements of the original to focus on peak-time damage, and an epic breakdown. Rounding off the package is The Deepshakerz’ remix, who up the ante even more with gritty barreling toms, jacking hi hats, and a cheeky barrage of melodic percussion skittering throughout.
