Mantu Asia playing at Lio 30.5.2014

Hey Mantu, long time no speak, it is a pleasure to have you back on the island!

Thanks a lot. I´m so happy to be back. Last week I was already 24 hours on the island for the IMS at the Hard Rock Hotel, which opened just and is very posh and stylish.

IMS was great meet some old friends and had some interesting meetings.

You come to play Lio this thursday, no?

I´m invited by Jean Claude Ades to play o his Be Crazy Event at Lio. We´re friends for a long time and had a release together on Great Stuff years ago. We manage together his label Be Crazy, where he just released his actual EP “Coming Home”.

We will party 3-4 times this year together at Lio and I´m very happy to be a part of his team.

What can people expect musicwise?

Good Music! We will play the whole night, so we have the chance to present a variety of vibes through the night.

It will be high energetic and powerful. Call it Deephouse, Techhouse or just House Music; with a lot of fun for everbody. Jihaaaa!!!

Tell us more about your latest releases.

This was the first time I a had a double release in one week and I wasn´t so sure about it, it could be that propably the one will get too much and the other not enough attention, but it was totaly different. For “Fever Rhapsody” on Kindisch Music, which is a little bit more deeper & eclectic I got some great feedbacks from Lee Curtis, Marcus Worgull and Kollektiv Turmstrasse. And for “Artbrigde” on Get Physical Music, which is more experimental and freaky, we had some amazing feedbacks from guys like Joris Voorn, Djuma Soundsystem & Tiger Stripes. I have to thank the labelteam and the remixers for their work and support,. Really guys thank you so much.

‘Artbridge’ is all but commercial, not even fashionable or trendy but so very unique – what was the idea behind it?

Artbrigde was a strange production, even for myself. The studiosession at Studio Kreuzberg was not so funny at this time and went in the wrong direction, so we stopped it and I told myself let´s make something totaly different and let us make a new genre.

We joked about that a time long and meanwhile “Artbridge” was growing in the studio. In the end we called our new genre “Comedyhouse”, because we had so much fun with that session. Sometimes you shouldn´t take everything so serious and just have some fun.

And how is your label ‘With Compliments’ developing?

Thanks for asking. I´m right now prepairing the start. It took some time to find the perfect strategy. I had some chats with Beatport and my artist about the plan and we start next month with a big bang. I´m sure you will hear about it. The first artist that will release on “With Compliments” are: Piemont, Ross Evans, 7th Star, RCNE and myself.

Will you have time to enjoy the island or is it a fly in and out – story?

Damm, I just had to switch my flights yesterday (Thanks a lot Agota for your help), because I had a new booking comin in. I planned to stay longer to hang out with Jean Claude, enjoy the island and produce some music. But now and for this date it will be fly in and out. What is really sad because I enjoy the island so much. I will play again on the 10th july and 21th august and try to stay longer. Hope to see you all this thursday at Lio.

Thanks Mantu, always good to chat with another maniac as i am, we live (which includes love) what we do and nothing can wear us out, ths is the only possible way to stand this pace.
