Booooooom!

We said it before, for so long, with different words but basically the message has always been the same.

But it seems that the human nature is not receptive for good advices, so now it has to be done the hard way – again. Finally the bubble is bursting and this is a good thing, learning by doing is hip if we don’t want to go south. We can not go on offering shit for a shit load of money, ripping off normal tourists wherever we can plus charging fortunes from the so-called VIPs for services that should be for free. The other day a friend told me that a celebrity booked a table in a restaurant and asked for a table apart, after dining she ordered the bill and was wondering why she wasn’t charged for the extra table. As the owner asked why he should charge her for the extra table she answered that she paid over 5.000 euros to get an extra table before… This is simply outrageous, whatever establishment is doing this is having a good share in what is happening right now.

Ibiza used to be the island where everybody had a great time no matter who you are or where you come from, hippies and ibizencos, average tourists and real vips (it means very important person you know), famous and fans, all together had a great time, no wristband fuck-up where you need the green one to get to the terrace, the red one to get into the vip zone and the black one to get into all of them – what the hell is happening in the brains of those people? You can NOT charge 20 Euros for a beer expecting the people to have a great time. Every 2 star hotel charges 200 Euros for a shit room, every hostal that used to charge 45 Euros now takes 4 times more…

Ibiza has always had its ups and downs, it is a natural process to make us remember what we are, or better what we are NOT. We are NOT just a playground for the rich, we are NOT a platform for pretenders showing off by spraying bottles of champagne, we are NOT a paradise for speculators renting houses for fortunes, we are NOT just commercial electronic name dropping clubs and we are definitely NOT just a party island.

This is a magic island with all it takes to be a paradise for all kinds of people that respect each other, ready to have the time of their life in company of like-minded companions, so let’s get back to this and preserve what makes it so special, not ruin it. And if you are not up for this then you better leave, we don’t need spectators, only actors, and talking bullshit has long gone out of fashion anyway, or, and i know i do repeat myself over and over and over again when i say this, but i love and live it – quality never prostitutes.
