Art preserves Nature

On thursday 23rd of August Dominique Sanson and his wife Marianne were the protagonists of an event that was held in Terravita on the main road to Santa Eulalia.

Dominique donated some of his paintings to a very good cause – the support of the IPF – the Ibiza Preservation Fund, an organization that aims to revitalize the island’s local agricultural potential and to protect our environment from the eradication of various species of plants and animals. All paintings were subject to an auction that took place after several activities to make the participants feel comfortable for the following auction.

The event was very well organized and all the paintings could be sold for the good cause. Dominique prepared another very special painting for this event, a 2 by 8 meter painting made of 4 single ones that, combined together, result in a massive painting about our ‘Human Galaxy’ with all its pros and cons.

Similar to the massive combination of various paintings he did about the different cultures dominating Ibiza in the past, from the Karthagans to our present domination of Clubbers coming from all over the world, this one is yet different because it is much more complex and has a more critical angle about what is happening.

Thanx at this point to all that participated in the event, all donators and everybody involved in the organization, and especially to Marianne and Dominique for their longlasting effort animating people to think twice about this island in the most artistic way as is his highly developed way of painting.
